Turn complex science into market momentum.

SMI helps animal-health innovators find the compelling truth inside sophisticated products, translate it for every audience and quickly deliver the tools needed to support distributors, veterinary teams and pet owners.

Animal health marketing has to work across the entire path to adoption.

A promising product is only the beginning. Distributors need a clear reason to support it. Veterinary teams need credible information and practical guidance. Pet owners need to understand the value of the recommendation. And every audience needs a story that is accurate, relevant and easy to act on.

SMI helps connect that journey—turning complex science into focused positioning, useful content and market-ready programs without losing the substance that builds trust.

RELATIONSHIP STUDY

Virbac + iVet

From Independent Portfolio to National Nutrition Platform

Founded in 2002 by a group of highly regarded independent veterinarians and a premium specialty pet food manufacturer, iVet Professional Formulas was built around a simple idea: give veterinarians an exclusive line of high-quality, affordable nutrition products that make it easier for pet owners to follow their veterinarian’s recommendations as part of an overall wellness plan.

Following iVet’s acquisition by Virbac, its formulas were integrated into Virbac’s broader U.S. pet nutrition portfolio, alongside the company’s flagship Veterinary HPM® line. At the same time, iVet.com evolved from the e-commerce home for iVet’s family of brands into the platform through which Virbac offers its portfolio of pet nutrition formulas across the United States.

As iVet’s digital agency since 2018, SMI has supported the business through every stage of that evolution—building targeted awareness, generating sales-qualified leads and strengthening engagement among veterinarians and pet owners. As iVet became part of Virbac, our relationship expanded with it, helping shape the digital experience and e-commerce platform supporting Virbac’s growing U.S. pet nutrition offering.

The SMI team was recommended to me by a trusted animal health industry colleague. We hired Mark’s team to overhaul our online shopping experience for both our clinics and the pet owner. The ROI on the improved UX as well as on our social and paid media engagement has been better than expected and with quality customer and visitor data, we look forward to continued improvement.
